Building the Business Capacity of Aging and Disability Organizations for Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS)

This project is a partnership between the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) and the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN), the Disability Rights and Education Defense Fund (DREDF), the National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC), and Health Management Associates (HMA); together these groups comprise the Aging and Disability Partnership. The Aging and Disability Partnership blends the on-the-ground community-based experience of both the aging and disability networks together with a strong consumer/legal advocacy voice and health/managed care technical experience. The goal of the project is to leverage the Aging and Disability Networks’ extensive infrastructure, service capacity and expertise, to ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality MLTSS to older adults and people with disabilities.

NASUAD is partnering with the State Medicaid Directors, the National Association of State Developmental Disability Directors, the National Council on Aging, the National Centers for Independent Living, and the University of Illinois – Center for Excellence, to develop a Managed Long-Term Care Cooperative to help guide states in developing and deploying their Managed LTSS pathways. Activities include regional Medicaid MLTSS Groups, State Medicaid MLTSS Innovation Tracking and Reporting, and technical assistance for states.

Aging and Disability Resource Center Technical Assistance Exchange

Audience: The Resource Center itself is primarily for grantees and the Aging and Disability Network, but the website has both private grantee specific information, as well as content aimed at the general aging network, and at other state and local organizations (Medicaid, Public Health, Providers, etc.), and at the general public

Assistance and guidance is provided to ACL and ACL grantees for the development and implementation of ACL’s long-term service and support (LTSS) initiatives, including developing or expanding Aging and Disability Resource Centers (ADRCs) or implementing participant-directed programs including the Community Living programs (CLP). Assistance will also be provided for other grant programs and to other Aging and Disability Services Network entities that do not have grants but wish to implement ACL grant programs.
