The Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline is hosting a 3-part webinar series in partnership with ACL, the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a), the Eldercare Locator, AARP, SAGE, and National Asian Pacific Center on Aging. The goal of these webinars is to ensure professionals understand the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and brain health on American families, and how critical it is to connect them to information, community resources, and support.

This webinar explores issues faced by AAPI families caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or other dementia disease. It includes cultural considerations, barriers to treatment and care, and practical suggestions. This webinar will provide service providers with a better understanding of the way that people from various AAPI cultures view caregiving, family roles, service utilization, stigma, medical care, and long-term care. It will also share tools and resources to support AAPI families.

The Power of Partnership: Working Together to Support Dementia Caregivers and Reach Diverse Communities

Update Your Game Plan for Supporting LGBT Elders with Alzheimer’s

This webinar focuses on challenges faced by members of the LGBT community who are living with or caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia. Explore the challenges faced by members of the community living with or caring for someone with dementia in key areas, including stigma, social isolation, poverty, and health disparities. The webinar will review key terms to use and to avoid, changing demographics, generational differences, and resources for serving your community.
