ACL Webinar on Elder Abuse and Neglect of Persons with Dementia—What We Know and Where We Are Going

On Thursday, May 8, 2014, the ACL Alzheimer's Disease Supportive Services Program held a new webinar on as part of a series to provide helpful, current, and applicable information for professionals who work with people with dementia and/or their caregivers.

This particular webinar focused on elder abuse and neglect as it relates to people with dementia. Participants learned about:

  • The incidence and prevalence of elder abuse, especially abuse of those with dementia

  • Tips for screening and assessing for elder abuse in the population of people with dementia

  • Programs that are addressing elder abuse among the population of people with dementia
