AARP Leads List Of “Free Or Low-Cost” Services, Support For Caregivers.

June 5, 2018

The San Diego Union-Tribune (6/5, Parente) carries a list of “essential local and national organizations that offer free or low-cost services, respite care, information, support groups, classes, fact sheets, referrals and more” for caregivers. First on the list is the AARP, which the Union-Tribune describes as a “national, nonprofit, nonpartisan, social advocacy organization” that “puts a significant spotlight on the challenges faced by caregivers.” The Union-Tribuen calls AARP’s online caregiver resources “an authoritative, exhaustive source for primers, guides – in multiple languages – fact sheets, interactive online-tools, webinars, videos, caregiver stories, and more.” Other organizations include Alzheimer’s San Diego, ElderHelp, and the Southern Caregiver Resource Center.
