Advocates For People With Disabilities Say New York Governor’s Health Proposal Would “Blow Up” The Self-Directed Care Model.

The Lower Hudson Valley (NY) Journal News (1/29, Harrison) reports that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) “spending plan would change the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, called CDPAP, which lets New Yorkers who qualify for Medicaid benefits...manage their own care by choosing their own aides, managing their aides’ schedules, and deciding their hours and pay.” Advocates for people with disabilities “say the state’s plan would blow up the state’s entire self-directed care model.”
