Americans On Medicare Seeing Prescription Savings From Inflation Reduction Act.

The New York Times (1/14, Span) reported on how the Inflation Reduction Act is lowering the costs of prescriptions for Americans on Medicare. Other “three significant changes in 2023” include the “$35 monthly cap on insulin, which will affect will affect more than a million insulin users who have Part D through Medicare Advantage plans or free-standing plans purchased along with traditional Medicare.” A “second major change” is “adult vaccines covered by Part D, typically offered at pharmacies, are now free, without deductibles or co-pays, just as the flu and pneumonia vaccines (covered by Part B) have been.”
