Bloomberg Law (7/29, Reed, Subscription Publication) reported, “Nursing home’s Medicare payments will be boosted by $904 million in fiscal 2023 under a Biden administration rule released Friday.” According to the CMS final rule, “the payment rate will increase 5.1%.” CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure called this “action is an important step in fulfilling our goal to protect people living in nursing homes and staff.”
Modern Healthcare (7/29, Goldman, Subscription Publication) reported CMS in April “proposed cutting Medicare Part A payments to nursing homes by $320 million,” but “changed course, and will phase in that payment correction over two years to ease the burden on providers still struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, the final rule says.”
