Elder Abuse On The Rise During Pandemic.—National Center on Elder Abuse and AOA mentioned
The Wall Street Journal (12/28, A1, Ansberry, Subscription Publication) reports that the pandemic not only affected older adults in terms of COVID-19 infections, but also made them more vulnerable to abuse financially. According to an FBI report on Internet crime, the number of victims of elder fraud went up 55% between 2019 and 2020.
