FDA Approves User-Fitted Hearing Aid.

Reuters (10/8, Banerjee) reports the FDA approved Bose Corp’s new hearing aid which “can be used without a doctor’s assistance.” The hearing aid is a “user-fitted hearing aid that can be adjusted through a smartphone app.” Reuters adds, “The FDA is in the process of drafting regulations regarding new over-the-counter category of hearing aids that are expected to be implemented in 2020.”
