September 28, 2022

Modern Healthcare (9/28, Hudson, Subscription Publication) reports, “Hospitals and health systems are looking to...address financial stress among employees, particularly those earning lower wages” by “implementing income-based benefits, including more voluntary healthcare coverage, to retain and recruit workers amid higher inflation and the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.” Modern Healthcare adds, “At 37% of hospital systems, benefit contributions charged to low-wage workers have been reduced, compared with 30% a year ago. Another 21% are considering such reductions in the next year, up from 15% last year, according to an annual survey released this week by financial-services firm Aon.”
