The Washington Post (1/16, Morris) reports on the effectiveness of certain lifestyle changes in helping long COVID patients deal with chronic fatigue. The change, known as pacing, calls upon those who suffer from chronic fatigue to deliberately plan out their activities in a way that leaves them plenty of time to rest. However, the strategy can be difficult for some patients as “it often requires scaling back on mundane tasks that most people take for granted...and it means finding ways to reduce energy expenditure.” The CDC had already updated its “guidance in the past decade to remove graded exercise therapy as a recommended treatment for” chronic fatigue.
