Meals On Wheels Volunteers Undeterred By High Gas Prices.

WRIC-TV Richmond, VA (6/8, Thrasher) reports the leaders of the non-profit, Meals on Wheels, “said they are not letting the gas prices stop them from feeding people in need.” The program volunteers use “their own cars to deliver food and their own money to fill up their tanks.” And while “volunteers said it isn’t cheap,” the “organizers are thankful it isn’t stopping the wheels from turning.”

Non-Profit Meals On Wheels Worries People Will Not Volunteer Due To Gas Inflation.

WMAR-TV Baltimore (6/7, Lewis) says “for organizations like Meals on Wheels, the gas inflation is not only affecting them personally, but it may prevent them from doing their job, feeding vulnerable communities.” The non-profit organization “relies on community members to volunteer by using their own cars and gas to help deliver items to feed the less fortunate,” but with gas prices rising, “organizers worry people won’t volunteer, which will leave vulnerable groups to suffer.”
