Disability Scoop (1/8, Heasley) reports, “A simple, routine test may be able to detect autism in newborn children,” according to researchers who found that “tests regularly given to newborns to screen for hearing loss” called ABR tests “could also offer clues about whether they are on the spectrum.” The study included “almost 140,000 auditory recordings from children born in Florida and matched...with the state’s educational records.” The findings were published in Autism Research.
