One of the hallmarks of the Older Americans Act (OAA) is its flexibility and the ability for the aging services network to tailor programs to their community needs. Entities are able to operate flexibly but must still meet key requirements when using OAA grant funding, including meeting all applicable federal laws, regulations, and other relevant guidance for federal grants. The OAA statute and the new OAA final rule contain various financial provisions specific to the administration of OAA Title III formula grant programs, for instance:
- Transfer of funding for certain programs
- Maintenance of effort requirements
- Non-federal share (i.e., match) requirements
- Buildings, alterations or renovations, maintenance, and equipment
- State and area plan administration
To support aging services network entities in implementation of the final rule and stewardship responsibilities of fiscal oversight and administration, ACL invites you to join the second webinar in our "Back-to-Basics" webinar series, which will focus on fiscal policies and procedures in the OAA final rule.
The OAA final rule updated language to align with the current statute to meet the needs of today’s older adults, as well as promote appropriate stewardship of OAA resources. This webinar will provide training to relevant staff on key fiscal requirements of the rule and serve as a training tool for new staff. State and area agency fiscal staff are especially encouraged to attend.
The webinar will be recorded. ASL and CART will be provided. If you need other accommodations to participate, please contact marcia.gordon@acl.hhs.gov. More information can be found on https://acl.gov/OAArule.
