Grantee: USAging
Partners: Advancing States, National Resource Center on Native American Aging, Family Caregiver Alliance, Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University
Objective: Research, develop, and increase capacity for care & caregiver navigator services
Project period: Sept. 30, 2024 - Sept. 29, 2027
USAging’s project aims to enhance the aging network’s capacity to offer effective caregiver navigation services in Older Americans Act-funded Title III-E and VI-C programs, as well as among the entities that administer them.
To establish a baseline understanding of current practices, USAging conducted an environmental scan examining how caregiver navigation services are implemented across these programs. Additionally, USAging is funding and evaluating caregiver navigation services at 14 pilot sites across the aging network to identify successful models and promising approaches.
As findings from the evaluation emerge, USAging and its partners will package the most effective models and approaches into ready-to-use resources for replication and scaling, supporting the broader implementation and long‑term sustainability of caregiver navigation services throughout the aging network.
Through these efforts, the project is enhancing the aging network’s overall capacity to provide high quality caregiver navigation services nationwide.
