Join the ACL-funded National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC) for their upcoming webinar, "Life Experience Informing Careers in Dementia Services and Supports," which will highlight the intersection of careers in supporting people living with dementia and caregivers — and how dementia caregivers' personal experiences inform their work.
Navigating the overlap of professional and personal lives can be challenging, but there are opportunities for each role to inform the other. It is not uncommon for professionals in the dementia field to have personal experiences as caregivers. This personal experience informs their work, providing opportunities to infuse their perspective in the programs and services they develop and deliver. The lessons learned from people who experience both roles are compelling and can help guide dementia work and caregiving practices.
Panelists
- Salli Bollin, MemoryLane Care Services
- Atheda Fletcher, Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System
- Stephanie Hughes, RTI International
The panel will be moderated by Stephani Shivers from CaringKind.
NADRC webinars are free of charge and open to the public, although pre-registration is required. The webinars are recorded and available for future viewing on the NADRC website. Closed captioning is available during the webinar and will be included in the recording.
