President Obama Reappoints Members of the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

On Friday, the White House announced the reappointment of members of PCPID. The group serves as a federal advisory committee which promotes policies and initiatives that support independence and lifelong inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in their respective communities. The findings from each PCPID meeting are included in an annual report to the President.

PCPID members are reappointed on a rolling basis throughout the year. The committee includes representatives from several federal agencies and 19 private citizens. The individuals selected for this group of reappointments include:

  • Peter V. Berns – Member, President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

  • James T. Brett – Member, President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

  • Kenneth Capone – Member, President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

  • Zachary W. Holler – Member, President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

  • Deborah M. Spitalnik – Member, President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

  • Elizabeth Weintraub – Member, President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities

President Obama said in a statement, "These men and women bring extraordinary dedication to their roles and will serve the American people well. I look forward to working with them."
