Funding available: Seeking inclusive programs for MLK Day of Service grants

April 30, 2015

Seeking funding for an MLK Day event? The Corporation for National and Community Service is accepting proposals for grants to fund events held on the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Priority will be given to organizations that have plans to ensure people with disabilities are among those serving at their service event.

MLK day is a national day of service that reflects the life and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The grant funding will provide more Americans with the opportunity to observe MLK day as not only a federal holiday, but as a day of service.

CNCS's mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement while encouraging participants to make a long-term commitment to community service. Proposals should focus on one of six areas: disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families.

The deadline to submit a Letter of Intent is May 15, 2015, and applications are due by June 2, 2015. Successful applicants will be notified in July 2015. Learn more.
