ACL awarded one cooperative agreement to the ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center to operate the Lifespan Respite Care Program: Technical Assistance and Resource Center (TARC). The goal of the TARC is to support the Lifespan Respite Care program, its grantees, and the national effort to ensure availability of, and access to, comprehensive, high quality respite care services and information for family caregivers across the lifespan. With this grant the TARC will work to:
- advance best practices in respite provision
- expand natural supports
- advance the respite research agenda
- increase stakeholder involvement
- provide tools for respite program sustainability.
ACL awarded fifteen cooperative agreements to states under the Lifespan Respite Care Program: State Program Enhancement Grants. The recipients are Alabama, Arizona, Idaho, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. Through these awards, states will focus on expanding and enhancing respite services by:
- improving coordination and dissemination of respite services
- streamlining access to their respite programs
- filling gaps in services
- improving the overall quality of respite services
