Getting Ready for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2023

WEAAD Week is June 12-16. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Building Strong Support for Elders. National Center for Elder Abuse.

 

On June 15, we will join the world in marking World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). WEAAD is an opportunity for us all to promote dialogue and education on the issue of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.



ACL’s National Center on Elder Abuse has a variety of resources and activities to help you commemorate WEAAD and be a part of the movement for elder justice. You can:

The week of WEAAD, NCEA will be sharing resources, hosting discussions, and promoting awareness about elder abuse around these daily themes:

  • 6/12, Monday: Interdisciplinary partnerships
  • 6/13, Tuesday: Intergenerational collaboration
  • 6/14, Wednesday: Intervention & prevention
  • 6/15, Thursday: Intersectionality of elder abuse
  • 6/16, Friday: International elder justice efforts
