Phase One Challenge Winners
People with HIV are living and thriving well into later life. This is good news, but the specific needs of people aging with HIV may not always be well met by existing programs. That’s why ACL and the HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy are pleased to announce the first round winners of funding for creative approaches to the varied issues that arise.
“We offered both a rural and urban challenge seeking effective community-based solutions because different communities often require a different approach,” said Edwin Walker, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aging, ACL.
The phase one winners of each competition will now more fully develop their ideas with the support of group and individual coaching from subject matter experts. Up to five will be selected for a prize of $70,000 to fully expand their approach and prepare for implementation.
