ACL has awarded $8.39 million to expand person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) services through an expert-led resource and technical assistance center. Building on a decade of demonstrated success in improving quality of life for Holocaust survivors and strengthening the capacity of caregivers and professionals nationwide, this award will broaden the reach of PCTI services to communities across the country.
Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) will guide this expansion work, fostering innovation locally and nationally through the demonstration and scaling of PCTI best practices. Specifically, JFNA will continue operating a national resource center for PCTI training and technical assistance, developing new tools for organizations and individuals interested in learning about the approach. JFNA will also provide funding opportunities to organizations delivering PCTI services, along with technical assistance to support sustainability. JFNA’s goal for this project is to ensure Holocaust survivors, other older adults with histories of trauma, and their caregivers can receive care that promotes dignity, empowerment, and resilience.
