The Link Center can be a resource for technical assistance to state disability and mental health agency staff, provider agencies, direct support professionals, clinicians, and others in the health care workforce. We can provide connections to reliable resources, share promising practices, and, in some cases, offer individual consultations on topics that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), brain injuries, other cognitive disabilities, or communication disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions to live well in the community. Sample topics include:
- Understanding trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
- Developing program and policy practices to assure access to effective services.
- Improving coordination among state systems to strengthen services and supports.
- Using Medicaid to provide services to children and adults with I/DD, brain injuries, other cognitive disabilities, and co-occurring mental health conditions to get needed services and supports.
We cannot provide services directly to individuals or real-time crisis or clinical referrals. If you or someone you know needs immediate help, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
If you are looking for other community services for you or someone you support, contact the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL), which helps people with disabilities get connected to information about local community resources that support community living.
