Center for Advancing Family Caregiver Financial and Workplace Security
Grantee: University of Southern California – Leonard Davis School of Gerontology
Partners: The Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging, California Work & Family Coalition, The Milken Institute, Case Western Reserve University, Health Equity Strategies and Solutions
Strategy Goal 4: Ensure financial and workplace security of family caregivers
Project period: March 1, 2024-Feb. 29, 2028
This project aims to reinforce family caregivers' financial and workplace stability through a multifaceted learning collaborative of diverse experts and community partners. This collaboration will guide the project’s activities, including curating planning resources and facilitating new national, state, and local partnerships. The center will also host learning collaborative meetings and identify, collect, and share culturally tailored case studies, tools, resources, and best practices through multiple avenues. It will create a searchable database of employer-facing resources, improve the accessibility of online resources, and provide targeted training and technical assistance for the aging services network.
Through these activities and the analysis of existing financial and workplace materials and national efforts, the project expects increased engagement of diverse caregivers nationwide; meaningful partnerships with aging and tribal networks at the national, state, and local levels; and increased materials to support family, kinship, and tribal caregivers.
