Understanding, Testing, and Evaluating Caregiver Navigator Services

Grantee: USAging
Partners: Advancing States, National Resource Center on Native American Aging, Family Caregiver Alliance, Scripps Gerontology Center at Miami University
Objective:  Research, develop, and increase capacity for care & caregiver navigator services
Project period: Sept. 30, 2024 - Sept. 29, 2027

This project aims to build and enhance the capacity of the aging network to offer effective caregiver navigator services in Older Americans Act (OAA)-funded Title III-E and VI-C programs and by the entities administering them.

USAging will first establish a baseline through an environmental scan to understand the extent to which caregiver navigator services are currently used in OAA Title III-E and VI-C programs. USAging will then fund, test, and evaluate existing aging network caregiver navigator services by working with pilot programs in the aging network to identify the successful models and approaches. Finally, USAging and partners will package for replication and scaling the most successful models and approaches for implementing and sustaining caregiver navigator services in OAA Title III-E and VI-C programs to foster replication across the aging network.
