ACL administers the following programs under the Public Helath Service Act:
- Section 398 of the Public Health Service Act: AoA administers the Alzheimer’s Disease Disease Supportive Services Program (ADSSP) program created by Congress in 1991 under Section 398 of the Public Health Service Act (P.L. 78-410; 42 U.S.C. 280c-3). It was amended by the Home Health Care and Alzheimer’s Disease Amendments of 1990 (PL 101-557) and by the Health Professions Education Partnerships Act of 1998 (PL 105-392).
- Title XXIX of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C 201): AoA administers theLifespan Respite Care Program created by Congress in 2006 under Title XXIX of the Public Health Service Act.
