Social isolation is a significant issue for veterans who may lose touch with friends due to multiple moves and deployments, physical and mental health issues resulting from their service, and difficulty that veterans can experience when leaving military service. Learn about this important topic — and resources available to address it — by joining ACL's upcoming Commit to Connect webinar. This webinar will highlight three organizations and their efforts to reduce social isolation among veterans.

Panelists:

  • Prince Taylor, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Jay Gorman, New England Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center
  • Justin Moor, Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc.

During the webinar, each panelist will discuss the work their organization is doing around promoting social connection among veterans as well as tips for other organizations to help with implementing similar work in their communities. The Commit to Connect Resource Center aims to advance the wellness of the U.S. by empowering older adults and people with disabilities to grow their social connections as a part of their healthy lifestyle.

This event will include CART captioning and ASL interpretation. The webinar will be recorded and shared publicly after the event. If you have any questions or additional accessibility requests, please email info@committoconnect.org.
