New Factsheets on Opioid Use for People with Burn Injuries and Spinal Cord Injuries

July 21, 2021

The NIDILRR-funded Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) recently published two opioid use factsheets for people with burn injuries and spinal cord injuries (SCI).

Outpatient Opioid Management for Adult Burn Survivors: Update for Community Providers provides information about opioid management for adults after they have been discharged from a hospital for treatment of acute burn injury.

Opioids and Your Health explains how opioids can affect one's health after a spinal cord injury, including what to watch out for when taking opioids.

Both factsheets are available in English and Spanish. These factsheets were developed in partnership with researchers from the NIDILRR-funded Burn and SCI Model System Centers.

NIDILRR, at ACL, generates new knowledge and promotes its effective use so that people with disabilities can perform activities of their choice in the community. NIDILRR also works to expand society’s capacity to provide full opportunities and accommodations for people with disabilities.
