Updated Funding Opportunity: Grants to Enhance State Adult Protective Services

April 22, 2021

The purpose of this program is to provide funding to states to enhance their APS systems statewide, as well as to improve the quality and quantity of data submitted to ACL's National Adult Maltreatment Reporting System (NAMRS).

This funding will support demonstration projects identifying effective actions that reduce the harm older adults and adults with disabilities involved with APS experience as a result of the opioid epidemic. ACL expects documented improvements in the experiences, well-being, and outcomes of individuals who are served by APS and who are experiencing the negative impact of the opioid epidemic.

ACL plans to award approximately three cooperative agreements to state governments.

This funding opportunity was first announced in March. It is being updated to include revised responsiveness criteria and a new application deadline of June 1.
