Financial security is critical to a high quality of life for older adults. The Administration on Aging (AoA) works to improve financial peace of mind through two programs funded by the Older Americans Act (OAA).
- The Pension Counseling and Information Program's grant projects fill a unique need by providing direct, specialized assistance at no charge to consumers. Counselors assist with identifying benefits from past employers, correcting miscalculations, appealing denied claims, and understanding complex pension laws.
- The National Education and Resource Center on Women and Retirement Planning serves as a one-stop gateway, providing user-friendly financial education and retirement planning tools targeting traditionally hard-to-reach women. Information and resources focus on retirement, health, and long-term care planning.
In addition, ACL's Approaching Retirement Age page contains resource guides created in partnership with other federal agencies in an effort to consolidate federal benefits information and resources that support informed decision-making about health care, finances, food, and housing.
