Walk for WEAAD: Get Moving for Elder Justice

April 21, 2022

Walk for WEAAD

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is less than two months away. One of the many ways you can help build a national elder justice movement is by joining the 2nd annual virtual Walk for WEAAD.

You can now register for the Walk for WEAAD campaign, which begins May 1st (the first day of Older Americans Month) and runs through June 15th, WEAAD.

Sign up now online or through the Walker Tracker app, and get ready to walk, run, or do a variety of other activities accessible to people of different ages and abilities.

How to get ready for Walk for WEAAD (May 1 – June 15):

  • Register and create your profile on https://weaad.walkertracker.com/ by April 30, 2022.
  • Create or join a team with colleagues, friends and family, or members of your community. No team? No problem! Join the “WEAAD Team” (it’s open to all!).
  • Find a purple shirt, ribbon, mask, or socks to wear or create signs to raise awareness of WEAAD.
  • Encourage your colleagues, friends, and community to join at https://weaad.walkertracker.com/.

For questions about the campaign, contact ACL’s National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) at ncea@med.usc.edu. For technical questions about the platform, contact the Walker Tracker support team or click the “Contact Support” button in the lower right-hand corner of your program dashboard on the desktop site or mobile app.
