Every March, ACL recognizes its Senior Nutrition Program, which has supported nutrition services for older Americans since 1972. The Profile of Older Americans is an annual summary of the available statistics related to the older population in the United States. Principal sources of data are the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Center for Health Statistics, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Post-publishing update: The deadline for these opportunities has been changed to February 14, 2023. If you have an idea for how communities can better support people who are aging with HIV, you could win funding to make it a reality. HHS is looking for interventions and solutions that can be scaled up or down or adapted by communities across the country. Whether rural or urban, most individuals and organizations are eligible to win, and it’s easy to apply. Proposals are due January 31, 2023.

A new Health Affairs blog highlights the value of improving health and well-being through establishing community care hubs – community-focused entities supporting a network of community-based organizations providing services that address individuals’ health-related social needs.

ACL has released two Innovations in Nutrition Programs and Services (INNU) funding opportunities for cooperative agreements to establish or replicate innovative approaches to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and outcomes of nutrition programs and services within the aging services network.
