As the Baby Boomer generation ages, the average age of homeowners trends older as well. Unlike the generation before them, many baby boomers are retiring with greater amounts of debt, without pensions, and without sufficient savings. For many older adults, their home is their largest source of wealth. They may need to tap into that source of wealth to pay for their living expenses in retirement and ultimately, their long-term care. So how can older adults utilize their home equity to cover expenses and protect this source of wealth as they age? The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) developed the following four “just in time” guides to assist older adults in navigating this question.

The Link Center: Bridging I/DD and Mental Health Systems, is pleased to announce the members of its inaugural steering committee. Funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), the mission of this national resource center is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and mental health conditions by supporting state agencies with policy development, service design, and service coordination resources, and sharing resources with individuals, families, direct support professionals, clinicians, and other policymakers.

This webinar will provide an overview of the need for a trauma informed approach and best practice principles for implementing trauma informed screening using a modified version of the Ohio State University Traumatic Brain Injury Identification Method.

These demonstration grants will help tribes advance elder justice by identifying community needs and by strengthening efforts to respond to elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation (including through multidisciplinary partnerships).

Resources for Integrated Care (RIC) is hosting “Promising Practices for Utilizing Motivational Interviewing (MI) to Improve Care Coordination and Address Social Determinants of Health (SDOH).” This webinar is intended for a wide range of stakeholders, including community-based organizations, health plans, health care providers, caregivers, and others who serve dually eligible individuals.  

Join the Disability Employment Technical Assistance Center (DETAC) for "Evaluating Employment Outcomes in Diverse Communities: Lessons Learned from Community Collaborations for Employment (CCE) Grantees in Texas and Virginia." ACL awards CCE grants to help increase and enhance collaborations across systems to create a seamless experience for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) as they transition between school and work in the community.
