Business Acumen Webinar 9/25: Use Measurement to Demonstrate Performance

September 17, 2019

The HCBS Business Acumen Center presents a webinar on Wednesday, September 25 at 12:30 - 1:30 pm ET.

Register for the webinar.

In business there are a lot of things that require your attention. Developing and implementing a well thought-out strategic plan sets your business in motion; and a well-monitored plan allows your organization to succeed. It's important to track how much money your organization makes and how much it spends, with monitoring through an eye on the revenues and expenses of your organization. A business also needs to track the minimum standards of licensure, regulations, or contractual obligations are being met through compliance oversight. Additionally, the evidence for how well you provide services is seen through quality measurement.

Quality measurement for long term services and supports is an evolving field. Not only do community-based organizations (CBOs) need to know how to demonstrate their performance, but they also need to know how to connect with the health payers they want to work with.

Join us on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Eastern as Torshira Moffett, Director of Product Development with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) describes the differences between structure, process, and outcome measures; and discusses how CBOs can impact measures health plans use to evaluate their performance.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the differences between structure, process, and outcome measures;
  • Understand how CBOs can impact measures health plans use to demonstrate performance; and
  • Understand the current status and direction of measurement for long-term services and supports.

This one hour webinar is available as part of the Business Acumen for Disabilities Grant provided by the Administration for Community Living to Advancing States in collaboration with national partners. The HCBS Business Acumen Center is dedicated to providing resources to sustain disability organizations.
