The federal government has made great strides in the 10 years since the Elder Justice Coordinating Council’s (EJCC) inaugural meeting in June 2012, and the subsequent creation of the “Eight Recommendations for Increased Federal Involvement in Elder Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation” in 2014.
This June’s EJCC meeting will include a retrospective review and celebration of the accomplishments of the EJCC member agencies and departments and recognize a few federal leaders who have been instrumental in advancing knowledge and policies on the issue of elder justice. The meeting also will provide a look ahead to the EJCC’s future directions and commitments for the next decade.
The Elder Justice Coordinating Council (EJCC) brings together leaders from across the federal government to address issues of elder justice nationally. Council members include the leaders of federal departments, agencies, and entities administering programs related to abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation.
