ACL has awarded a new cooperative agreement to the University of Southern California (USC) to operate ACL’s National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA). USC is receiving $995,034 for the first year of this three-year project
The NCEA seeks to:
- gather, publish, and disseminate elder maltreatment research;
- maintain a repository of elder maltreatment materials;
- compile, publish, and disseminate trainings for professionals;
- provide technical assistance and conduct research;
- implement model projects on elder maltreatment;
- and coordinate a national annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day campaign and events to spread awareness of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation..
The NCEA will work with aging and disability partners to maximize their impact nationally and to continue to meet the needs of all older adults and adults with disabilities. The NCEA also expects to build increased knowledge and awareness of EM; foster stronger relationships with new and existing partners; and improve engagement with underserved, underrepresented, and limited English proficient populations, and organizations that serve them.
Please visit the NCEA website to learn more about their activities and resources.
