The Older Americans Act (OAA) provides the foundation for the national aging network, which includes the Administration on Aging, state units on aging (SUA), area agencies on aging (AAA), tribal organizations, service providers, and volunteers. As required by the OAA, SUAs are the designated state agencies responsible for developing and administering a multi-year state plan on aging that establishes goals and objectives to assist older adults and family caregivers. At the local level, AAAs develop and SUAs approve area plans on aging, which describe how services under the OAA will be provided. Funding formulas are used to determine the allocations of funding available under the OAA to implement these state and area plans on aging.
This webinar is being held to support aging network entities in their implementation of the OAA final rule, relating to expectations for state plans on aging, area plans on aging, and intrastate funding formulas. Additionally, an overview of the interstate funding formulas in the OAA will be provided. This webinar will cover topics including:
- Updated requirements for state and area plans on aging
- Expectations for intrastate funding formulas
- Overview of interstate funding formulas in the OAA
- Final rule provisions
ASL and CART will be provided. If you need other accommodations to participate, please contact marcia.gordon@acl.hhs.gov. More information can be found at ACL.gov/OAArule.
