Final webinar of a three-part series focused on improving community living for people with I/DD
Friday, September 22, 2023 | 1:30-3:00 PM ET
Register for the webinar.
Safe, accessible, affordable housing in the community is essential to independent living, but community-based housing options are extremely limited for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
This webinar will introduce two innovative and replicable housing models — Our Stomping Ground and The Kelsey — both of which support full inclusion and integration of people with I/DD into their community. The webinar will also feature the Nisonger Center in Ohio and their Smart Home Discovery Place. Stakeholders will discuss key collaborations and how they brought these models to their communities, and a self-advocate will share personal experiences.
The target audience for the series is broad and includes state and community disability, aging, health, and housing agencies, providers, and advocates, plus researchers, individuals with I/DD, and families.
Registrants will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the webinar. The webinar will include real-time captioning and ASL interpreting. If you need additional accommodations or have questions, please email allison.cruz@acl.hhs.gov.
