Meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Individuals with Disabilities and Disasters (NACIDD)

Join NACIDD members to discuss, finalize, and vote on an initial set of recommendations to the HHS Secretary and the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) regarding challenges, opportunities, and priorities for national public health and medical preparedness, response, and recovery, specific to the needs people with disabilities in disasters.



Members of the public and expert stakeholders are invited to virtually participate in the meeting as observers. An agenda and other relevant meeting materials will be posted on the NACIDD public webpage at least 10 days in advance of the meeting. American Sign Language translation and Communication Access Real-Time Translation will be provided.  



Stakeholders can submit questions or comments to NACIDD ahead of the meeting by sending an email to NACIDD@hhs.gov, which board members will consider during the meeting as time allows.



The NACIDD is inviting key stakeholder groups to address the committee and share their ideas on issues related to meeting the specific health needs of people with disabilities during and after disasters and emergencies. They are especially interested in hearing comments from representatives of academia, professional groups, advocacy organizations, or U.S. state, tribal, territorial, or local governments. If time allows, the floor will open to hear as many relevant comments as possible.

The National Advisory Committee on Individuals with Disabilities and Disasters (NACIDD) evaluates issues and programs and provide findings, advice, and recommendations to the Secretary of HHS, in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, to support and enhance all-hazards public health and medical preparedness, response activities, and recovery aimed at meeting the unique needs of people with disabilities across the entire spectrum of their wellbeing.
