Join the ACL-funded National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC) for "Building Dementia Awareness in Tribal Communities through Interactive Programming: Implementing the Virtual Dementia Tour."
The Virtual Dementia Tour, created by P.K. Beville, is a proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of sensory tools and instruction. Within tribal communities, it has become a powerful way to build understanding and open the door to greater conversation and education about dementia.
During the webinar, presenters will discuss their experiences using the Virtual Dementia Tour and describe its impact within the Oneida Nation.
Presenters:
- Amber Hoon, LPN, Tribal Dementia Program Director, Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council (GLITC)
- Carrie Lindsey, BSW, CSW, Community Health Services Long-Term Care Case Management Program Manager, Oneida Comprehensive Health Division
NADRC webinars are free of charge and open to the public, although pre-registration is required. The webinars are recorded and will be available for future viewing on the NADRC website. Closed captioning is available during the webinar and will be included in the recording.
