National Paralysis Resource Center Hosting Mindfulness Training for Healthcare Professionals

February 16, 2022

The National Paralysis Resource Center (operated by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation) is announcing a virtual three-part series that equips healthcare professionals who directly serve wheelchair users with sets of 1-5 minute mindfulness and yoga techniques (capsules) to foster resilience in the body, breath and mind. This is especially critical during times of change, challenge and uncertainty.

The program is free to qualified healthcare professionals that directly serve people with paralysis as part of their job responsibilities.

Jay Gupta, RPh, MS, MTM Specialist, C-IAYT, will lead the science-smart series for a powerfully restorative educational experience in March and again in April. Each interactive session in March is provided live and online using Zoom on a Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM Eastern Time and sessions in April on a Saturday from 9:00 AM– 4:30 PM Pacific Time.

Each session provides 6.0 continuing education credits (18.0 total) for a range of health workers, including but not limited to physicians (AMA PRA category 1 CME), nurses (NE-MSD/ANCCC), certified therapeutic recreation specialists, and some social workers and mental health counselors.

Apply by Monday, February 28. Space is limited to maintain a quality experience, so please don't delay in enrolling! Apply for the March series here and the April series here.
