We all have the right to take risks and make choices that give our lives meaning. However, older adults’ participation in activities that carry risk often comes under scrutiny, particularly if they experience physical, cognitive, mental health, or functional decline.
This webinar hosted by the ACL-funded National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) 2024 will address how elder justice professionals can support older adults in navigating the assessment, management, mitigation, and acceptance of risk that may expose them to abuse or harm. A Q&A session will follow the panel discussion.
The webinar will feature automated captioning. If you have any questions or need other accommodations to participate, please email ncea-info@acl.hhs.gov.
Funded by ACL, the NCEA serves as a national resource center dedicated to the prevention of elder mistreatment. In addition to providing elder abuse information to professionals and the public, it provides technical assistance and training to states and community-based organizations.
