States and stakeholders are working to implement the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Settings Rule, as the rule’s requirements go into place when the transition period comes to a close next month. Join the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and ACL on Tuesday, February 21, for two important webinars on the HCBS Settings Rule to learn more about implementation and strengthening stakeholder advocacy.


Webinar 1: “Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services Settings Regulation: Fitting the Pieces Together”

Tuesday, February 21, 2023 | 1:00-2:30 PM ET

 

This webinar will provide:

  • A review of the various activities states have undertaken to implement the Medicaid home and community-based services (HCBS) final settings rule.
  • A discussion of the purpose, lifespan, and next steps regarding Medicaid HCBS settings rule implementation tools, including Statewide Transition Plans (STPs), Heightened Scrutiny, and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
  • An overview of Medicaid 1915(c) waiver and 1915(i) and 1915(k) state plan provisions for ongoing monitoring.

Webinar 2: “Getting the Services You Need From the Waiver: The Participant-Centered Service Planning and Service Delivery”

Tuesday, February 21, 2023 | 3:00-5:00 PM ET



This webinar will review Appendix D – Participant-Centered Planning and Service Delivery in the HCBS Waiver application and how it impacts the quality of services individuals receive, state responsibilities related to service planning and delivery, and how stakeholders can have an impact on the application. We will also hear about Colorado's effort to design participant-centered planning across their service system.
