Application Instructions

The National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) is accepting applications for a new funding opportunity to support implementation of innovations to increase accessible transportation options for older adults and people with disabilities. NADTC wants to target communities that have developed good ideas for increasing the availability or accessibility of transportation services but lack the funding to make those ideas a practical reality. Projects must be ready to implement and be completed within six months. Local and regional private nonprofit or government organizations that directly provide transportation services may apply.

ACL’s National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) has a new funding opportunity for the Rehabilitation Engineering and Research Centers (RERC) Program on Physical Access and Transportation. The program works to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by conducting research on and development of innovative technologies to solve rehabilitation problems or remove barriers. NIDILRR seeks to fund research and development that leads to new or improved products, devices, built environments, and technological advances that enhance accessibility and usability of homes and communities; increase access to safe, accessible, and usable transportation options; or both.

Improving Rural Transportation Services (USDA)

Application Instructions

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is making grants available under the Rural Business Development Grants Program to provide rural communities with training and technical assistance to improve transportation services and facilities. Applicants are encouraged to consider projects that provide measurable results in helping rural communities build robust and sustainable economies through strategic investments in infrastructure, partnerships, and innovation. National organizations focused on serving rural communities are eligible to apply.
