Social workers play a critical role in disaster relief and emergency preparedness. When disaster strikes, social workers are often on the front lines making sure everyone affected receives the help they need. However, licensing requirements may make it tougher for practitioners to provide survivors the care they need. The Social Work Licensure Compactpromotes the mobility of licensed social workers.
This webinar, cohosted by the Office of Human Services Emergency Preparedness and Responseand the Council of State Governments, will allow participants to learn more about how the Social Work Licensure Compact seeks to increase public access to social work services, provide licensees with opportunities for multistate practice, enhance public protection abilities, and allow for expanded use of telehealth technologies.
This webinar will include:
- An overview of the Social Work Licensure Compact and how it works
- The timeline for setup of the commission and issuance of multistate licenses
- Details on how the compact can support disaster relief efforts
- Time for a Q&A portion to answer lingering questions
