Webinar: Update on APS Consensus Guidelines

July 7, 2020

Tuesday, July 21, 2020 - 3:00 - 4:00pm EDT

Register for this webinar,

Join ACL's Adult Protective Services Technical Assistance Resource Center for a webinar on recent updates and revisions to ACL's Voluntary Consensus Guidelines for State APS Systems. The webinar will cover the process of updating the guidelines, the updates and revisions that were made, and some findings from research done in conjunction with the guidelines.

ACL facilitated the development of the guidelines to assist states in developing efficient and effective APS systems, and to provide APS administrators with recommendations from the field about quality practice. The development process included a review of research on what works in APS agencies and other analogous systems and an extensive stakeholder engagement process. During the past year, ACL has facilitated a similar process to update the guidelines and incorporate findings from new research and experiences from the field.

The webinar will feature:

  • Stephanie Whittier-Eliason, MSW, Aging Services Program Specialist, Office of Elder Justice and Adult Protective Services, ACL
  • Mary Twomey, MSW, Consultant on Elder Justice and Adult Protective Services, New Editions Consulting, Inc.
  • Anne Leopold, MSc, Senior Project Manager, New Editions Consulting, Inc.
