About the Office of the Administrator
The Office of the Administrator provides executive leadership for ACL programs and agency operations and serves as the focal point for communication and coordination with the Administration, the Office of the HHS Secretary, federal partners, and the public.
Immediate Office of the Administrator
Maura Calsyn, Principal Deputy Administrator, performing the duties of the ACL Administrator and Assistant Secretary for Aging
Rick Nicholls, Deputy Administrator and Chief of Staff
Jennifer Klocinski, Deputy Chief of Staff
The Immediate Office of the Administrator establishes national priorities and provides executive leadership to ensure that ACL’s programs and policies effectively and efficiently advance the agency’s goal of ensuring that all people regardless of age or abilities, can live with respect and dignity as fully participating members of their communities.
The Administrator and Principal Deputy Administrator both serve as members of the HHS senior leadership team and advise the HHS Secretary, other HHS divisions, and other federal agencies on disability and aging issues to ensure that federal policies and programs that affect older adults, people with disabilities, and those who support them, reflect their unique needs and include their input.
In collaboration with other federal agencies, IOA develops and implements partnerships to advance the concerns and interests of people with disabilities, older adults, and their families. The IOA also works with national organizations, professional societies, foundations, and academic organizations to identify mutual interests and plan voluntary and funded approaches to enhance opportunities for community living. The IOA also coordinates the organization’s international, disaster, intergovernmental affairs, and executive secretariat activities.
