The National Falls Prevention Resource Center and Resources Available

The National Falls Prevention Resource Centeris funded by ACL and is currently housed at the National Council on Aging (NCOA) Center for Healthy Aging. The Resource Center increases public awareness about the risk of falls and supports the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based falls prevention programs and strategies across the nation.

NCOA has a comprehensive, interactive web-based repository with tools and resources, including best practices tip sheets, program and fidelity guidance, a Falls Prevention Awareness Week toolkit, educational webinars, Grand Rounds recordings, articles covering topics from program implementation through sustainability, resource hubs, practice models, the Falls Free Checkup online screening tool — and they maintain the national falls prevention database.

The Resource Center provides technical assistance and educational opportunities for the aging network’s falls prevention efforts, including workgroups, webinars, and live training. They host the annual Age + Action Conference, a grantee gathering to explore solutions to ensure equitable aging for all, connecting with colleagues, sharing innovative ideas, and discussing policy solutions that can be achieved together on behalf of older adults.

The Resource Center also supports state falls prevention coalitions to collaborate to reduce falls, identify state or community needs, and build capacity.

The National Falls Prevention Resource Center includes many resources for professionals and organizations.

The resources below can help older adults identify and address their falls risk factors.
