Participants will learn about key takeaways from a new NASHP report that explores emerging respite care strategies within Medicaid HCBS waivers serving older adults and adults with physical disabilities and respite care policies in Kentucky and Virginia that increase service access within their states, with a particular focus on how other states can replicate.

This webinar will feature speakers from three vaccination projects who will discuss how their unique programs are using transportation to help older adults and people with disabilities get vaccinated.

A video recording, transcript, and other materials from the June 8, 2023, Elder Justice Coordinating Council (EJCC) meeting are now available. The meeting highlighted the importance of including older adults in preparedness planning for disasters, emergencies, and pandemics and discussed the future of the elder justice movement and World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD).

Cooperative agreement grants awarded under this opportunity will support and promote the development and expansion of dementia-capable home and community-based service systems in states and communities. The dementia-capable systems resulting from program activities are expected to provide quality, person-centered services and supports that help people living with dementia and their caregivers remain independent and safe in their communities.

The proposed rule is the culmination of many years of engagement with the national aging network. It also reflects input received through a formal request for information and a series of listening sessions, including formal tribal consultations and other engagements with tribal grantees. The webinar will provide an overview of the proposed rule, as well as instructions for providing input.

People with HIV are living and thriving well into later life. This is good news, but the specific needs of people aging with HIV may not always be well met by existing programs. That’s why ACL and the HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy are pleased to announce the first round winners of funding for creative approaches to the varied issues that arise.

The Amputee Coalition is hosting a listening session for people affected by peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and other related diseases — such as diabetes, coronary artery disease, and cerebrovascular disease — that resulted in amputation. Attendees can share their experiences of pre- and post-amputation medical care from a holistic lens to improve patient care.
